Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Quizbiz LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), doing business as RiskFreeTrial.org, collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information when you use our website and services.

1. Who We Are

Quizbiz LLC is a United States limited liability company operating RiskFreeTrial.org and a portfolio of related domains. For data protection purposes, Quizbiz LLC is the data controller.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Deliver the Service: Process payments, maintain credit balances, send trial reminders, facilitate refunds
  • Share feedback with builders: When you submit feedback through the refund process, your feedback and email are shared with the builder whose product you used, so they can improve their product and follow up if needed
  • Cross-domain account management: Your account and credit balance work across all participating portfolio domains
  • Improve the Service: Analyze aggregate usage patterns and analytics events
  • Prevent fraud: Detect and prevent abuse of the refund system
  • Comply with law: Respond to legal requests and maintain required financial records

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your data under these legal bases:

  • Contract performance: Account data, payment data, trial tracking, credit balances (necessary to deliver the service you requested)
  • Legitimate interest: Analytics, fraud prevention, platform security
  • Consent: Sharing identified feedback with builders (you consent when submitting the feedback form), marketing emails
  • Legal obligation: Financial record-keeping, tax compliance

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share data with advertising networks. We do not use third-party trackers.

5.1 Cross-Domain Data Sharing

RiskFreeTrial.org operates a shared billing hub across a portfolio of participating domains. When you create an account or purchase credits, your account and balance are accessible across these domains. Each domain can only see transaction history related to its own services. Your data is logically separated per domain in our database.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years after the transaction date (legal/tax compliance).
  • Feedback data: Retained for the life of the builder relationship, or until you request deletion.
  • Analytics events: Raw events retained for 12 months, then aggregated and anonymized.
  • Trial tracking data: Deleted upon account deletion.

7. Your Rights

All Users

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and personal data
  • Export: Receive your data in a portable format

European Users (GDPR)

  • Right to restrict processing
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California Residents (CCPA)

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • Right to delete personal information
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell your data)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@riskfreetrial.org. We will respond within 30 days (or 45 days for CCPA requests).

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies:

  • Authentication session: A secure, HTTP-only cookie to keep you logged in. Essential for the service to function.
  • Cloudflare security: Cookies set by Cloudflare for bot protection and performance.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our analytics are first-party only, collected via our own endpoints and stored in our own database.

We do not currently honor "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no industry standard for compliance. However, since we do not use third-party trackers, the practical effect is the same.

9. Security

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit via Cloudflare)
  • Passwords are hashed before storage
  • Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS Level 1 compliance. Your card information never touches our servers.
  • Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel
  • We will notify affected users of any data breach within 72 hours of discovery

10. Children

Our Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data is processed in the United States and may be routed through Cloudflare's global network. If you are in the EEA or UK, transfers are protected by:

  • Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses
  • Stripe's Data Processing Agreement and Standard Contractual Clauses

12. Third-Party Sign-In (SSO)

If you sign in using Google, GitHub, or Apple:

  • We receive your name and email address from the provider
  • We do not receive or store your password from the provider
  • You can disconnect SSO and switch to password-based authentication at any time
  • Your use of SSO is also governed by the provider's privacy policy: Google, GitHub, Apple

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
